2023 Gap's Crown Pinot Noir

The grapes in this wine were hand-harvested at the Gap's Crown Vineyard and hand-sorted on 10/9/2023. The fruit was fermented in an open top tank with 25% whole cluster fermentation and barrel aged for 15 months before bottling. 

From one of Sonoma Coast's most celebrated vineyard sites, this exceptional Pinot Noir showcases the unique terroir of Gap's Crown's windswept ridgetop location. The wine displays a gorgeous deep ruby color with purple highlights, immediately drawing you in with its distinctive aromatic profile.

The nose is captivating and unusual for Pinot Noir, offering rich aromas of fresh blueberry pie with hints of graham cracker crust, vanilla, and warm cinnamon spice. Delicate floral notes of violet and rose petal add complexity alongside subtle undertones of forest floor and coastal fog.

On the palate, this wine delivers its signature blueberry pie character in full force - think juicy, concentrated blueberries with a touch of sweetness balanced by bright acidity and elegant structure. The fruit flavors are complemented by notes of baking spices, a hint of brown butter, and the vineyard's characteristic mineral backbone. Silky tannins provide gentle support while the wine maintains Pinot Noir's inherent finesse.
